Kashmir's New Generation on the Brink of Moral Crisis: Rise in Immoral Activities Sparks Concerns

The younger generation in Kashmir is facing numerous challenges that pose a significant threat to the region’s future. Unemployment is one of the most pressing issues, with a high youth unemployment rate and a lack of job opportunities leading many young people towards immoral activities. Low levels of education and skills training exacerbate the problem, making it challenging for young people to find decent employment.

To address this issue, the government and society must provide education and training opportunities to the youth. The private sector also has a role to play in creating job opportunities and investing in the region. The youth must be empowered and equipped with the necessary skills to become entrepreneurs and create their own businesses.

Another concerning trend in Kashmir is the shift in priorities towards animals, such as dogs and cats, which are being kept as status symbols in large mansions. In many cases, these animals receive more attention and care than the elderly and vulnerable members of society. This attitude needs to change, and people must prioritize their responsibilities towards their families and society.

Drug abuse is also a significant issue facing the younger generation, with the region being a prime route for smuggling. The youth is getting attracted to drugs, leading to addiction and, eventually, a life of crime. The flesh trade is another immoral activity that is rampant in the region, and it is slowly taking over the lives of the younger generation. Furthermore, drink and driving, road rage, dangerous bike stunts, and accidents are becoming a common occurrence, putting the lives of the youth and others at risk.

Society must play a crucial role in curbing such immoral activities by identifying the downtrodden sections of society that need assistance in continuing their children’s education and fulfilling their daily needs. The government and non-profit organizations should launch campaigns and awareness drives to educate the youth about the dangers of drug abuse, flesh trade, aggression, and other immoral activities. Parents and teachers must conduct thorough checks on their children’s activities and provide guidance to help them make responsible choices.

Adolescent girls and young women in Kashmir are particularly vulnerable to a range of social and cultural factors that can negatively impact their health and well-being. They face gender-based violence, harassment, and discrimination in addition to the issues already mentioned. It is essential to provide girls and women with access to education, healthcare, and support services that address their specific needs. Families and communities must challenge harmful attitudes and beliefs that perpetuate discrimination and violence against women and provide them with opportunities to participate fully in society and pursue their goals and aspirations.

Before constructing new religious structures, the community must prioritize the needs of the community, especially the younger generation. Acts of kindness such as providing books or food to those in need can go a long way in creating a positive impact on the community.

In conclusion, it is time for Kashmir to address the pressing issues facing the younger generation. Parents, teachers, and society must take a stand and address the issue by educating the youth, implementing stricter laws, and providing support and guidance. The Muslim community must come forward and help those in need, especially the younger generation. By taking collective action, we can make a positive change and create a better future for all in Kashmir.
